Rebuilding Schools Ukraine

Location: Mykolaiv region, Ukraine.
Goal: Returning hundreds of children to in-person education and ending long-term social isolation.
Direct aid: Purchase of windows, doors, construction materials, electrical installations, and sanitary equipment.
Personal involvement: Direct participation of our team in construction work on site.

Long-term social isolation and the absence of a safe environment have had a devastating impact on Ukrainian children. In 2025, we therefore focused on a project to restore two primary schools in the Mykolaiv region that had been damaged by shelling and had been unable to serve their purpose since 2022.

Our goal was not merely to improve the schools cosmetically, but above all to restore their essential infrastructure so that, after more than five years including the pandemic period, children could finally return to their classrooms. In cooperation with the organization Dobrobat, we focused on purchasing construction materials – from windows and electrical installations to equipping functional civil protection shelters. A safe shelter is now an essential condition for a school to obtain a license and legally operate. Members of our team also joined the construction work in person on site to ensure that every donor contribution was used effectively. We are returning not only education to children, but also a sense of normality and a safe refuge in the midst of conflict.
